Fieldwork primarily aiming to assess any hazards in the recent snow at mid elevations.
to 7000 ft
Ski cuts and turns on steep easterly slopes released dry snow sluffs that ran on the old snow surface (10-15 cm down) and fanned out. THey did not gouge deeply into old snow.
Multiple natural point releases below steep rocks and trees on slopes a little south of east. Looked to have run this morning. Could not see how far most ran. Guessing on size from the few for which we could see the the terminus. May have run further. Likely triggered by a few sun hits early AM
Below about 5200', snow wetter even where shaded, and triggered sluffs on steep slopes where the few inches of fresh had gotten wet.
