We went to monitor the persistent slab problem and recent wind loading in the Canyon Creek area.
We managed the persistent slab problem by choosing low risk terrain: no convexities, low slope angles. The powder we skied without having to sweat the avalanche hazard was well worth the self discipline.
This avalanche apeared to be skier triggered but is old enough that it's unclear. The date is speculative based on how much new snow (3-4") was on the bed surface.
