Today we found a layered snowpack above ~4800 ft near Marias Pass. The snowpack consisted of 4-6 inches of new snow above moist crusts and MF grains with isolated drifts on westerly slopes. Little to no evidence of wind transport at low and mid elevation terrain throughout the Middle Fork. Wind speeds from weather stations suggest drifting at upper elevations is minimal.
Roadside observations from Lake McDonald, Middle Fork, and Marias Pass.
