I took advantage of a Crested Butte-like sunny day to check in on the corn season and the state of the snowpack. Plenty of recent avalanche activity noted but the highlight was seeing and hearing wet loose and slab avalanches thunder down the steep mountainsides.
I watched 2 of the 3 run at 12:30 -1:00. One of these released 300' above a recent slab in the same gulley.
At least 5 D2 wet loose slides on the south-facing slopes above Great Bear Creek as of 2:00.
We had a limited view of other south-facing terrains in this valley besides the slopes on this face. 1 D2 and the rest 1.5.
One of these may have been triggered by a cornice fall. The date is a rough estimate.
