Our Mission

Flathead Avalanche is a partnership between the Flathead National Forest Avalanche Center (FAC) and the Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center (FOFAC), a 501c3 organization guided by a community board. FAC and FOFAC are united by our commitment to sharing information that reduces avalanche incidents and fatalities. We provide daily avalanche forecasting, education, and outreach in northwest Montana.
