Please take this 15-minute survey about FAC products to help us improve our forecast products. Thank you!
We are still flowing!
As a critical public safety organization, the FAC anticipates continuing our daily forecasts through our end-of-season-date of April 5th. We are monitoring the dynamic pandemic situation and following recommendations from the US Forest Service.
Because ski resorts are closed, ski patrol is no longer conducting avalanche mitigation or responding to medical accidents. Treat resorts like they are backcountry terrain and respect any closures or uphill policies within ski areas.
If you are traveling in the backcountry, do so responsibly. Be extra vigilant to prevent any type of incident or injury that could overburden the stressed health care system.
As our season wraps up, now is a good time to support your local avalanche center to ensure that we can continue to provide our services in years to come. If you valued our products this year, consider a donation to FOFAC through our website: https://www.flatheadavalanche.org/Donate
Your observations are extremely valuable as we wind down the season into the offseason. We will continue to manage our observations database through the spring.
